Shit! I regret...

54 posts in this topic

Sold my GTV late November. I now regret. Most because I have yet not found what I want replace it with.

Still no Ghibli in sight, the car I wanted was sold to another and all others seem to be too expensive.

A 3200GT is also under consideration. But most likely no fun at a track.

The GTV had it all. Great look, super handling and cheap in running costs!

What to do? Budget of 15000EUR.

So you managed to get to CPH in the storm, I thought that you was bouncing around on Skagerrak in some ferry the whole  weekend, I  had to take to Sweden for a few hours and when I should go back to Denmark so was all the possibilities for travel closed.

I hope you had a good trip in CPH and we have to meet up for some beer another time when I'm not so busy.

No problem. We were supposed to stay in Paris for the weekend, but attack of Charlie Hebdo made us change plans.

MiTo to CPH was a good solution. We love the city so easy choise :D

:slap:  :D

If you like so much your ex car, why don't try to buy it back.

For these money may be possible to buy a 996, but maintenance cost will be high for sure  :death: .

For this budget my goal will be to try to find Integrale Evo 1 or Escort Cosworth. Or if I want something newer - Evo 9. But thats me :), you want a classy coupe as far as I understand.

I have an agreement with the guy that bought my car to have the chance of bying it back if he ever sell the car.

GT 3,2 is good, but I'd prefer a RWD this time... I'm thinking a trackday prepped 105 GT or GTV is nice. In the other end I'd like something that can bring me down to Croatia this summer... A 3200GT will do that exellent, but..

Shit this is hard. I should just have kept my GTV... :P

Porsche 944......DO IT! Best car I've driven from a balance and traction perspective and would love to get my hands on a Turbo or S2 one day (and they're actually not too bad parts wise and VERY reliable - I've owned one btw)! Otherwise get another TB :P

If a Porsche is on the table it must be a 968 CS at least. 944 is too old.

I have now placed a bid on one of the Ghiblis I visited in Italy a week ago...   B)

Do you like bimmers?

I like them in a way, but just for practical daily drivers.

I have been out testing a F30 320i m sport. Good car, and a canidate if I swap my MiTo while waiting for new sedan from Alfa Romeo.

Some "creative" ideas.

BMW Z3 M.

Yes, it's a Beemer, but the Z3 is a cool car nonetheless! And it's got 3.2L of RWD high-revving awesomeness in a unique body shell.

Test drive one?

Supra MkIV

I know you're a couple of years older than me so maybe you don't find the last generation Supra as cool as I do. Yes, they're Japanese, and yes, quite a few have been ruined by DIYers and failed tuners... I like them in discrete colors and without spoiler kits and huge wheels. And that straight six sounds absolutely fantastic, especially with a single turbo kit...  :respect:

Fiat Coupé 20VT

Probably behaves kinda similar to a 916. The five cylinder engine sounds good and it looks cool.

Fiat 2300 S Coupé

Simply because I want one.

Z3M Coupe is definietly on the list! Cool car indeed!

Supra - No thanks!

Fiat Coupe 20VT, id rather go for a GTV 3L 24V...

Fiat 2300 Coupe, lovely car!

i was wondering if you knew about importing GTVs to our fine country that have mods already done to it. LSD, Exhaust, Engine swap ect.

Saw a phase 1 GTV V6 3.0 with a 3.2 engine and was wondering if it can be registered.

I see the importing GTV scenario as: budget: 15k euros

1: UK version/RHD with fully mods, LSD, powerflex, shocks, springs, exhaust. some minor exterior mods, perhaps GTA clutch, flywheel and brakes.

Or

2: LHD europe: Stock as is, or maybe your lucky and find a car with some tasteful mods from some alfist.

can the modded version even be registered? or does it have to be bone stock and registered before mods are installed?

If you want something that is fun on the track, what about a Lotus Elise or BMW M3? Sure the Lotus is small but they are great fun on a track and while the M3 might be a bit boring to look at, its the king of sports saloons for a reason

Can you import a car from Greece or is it too far away?

Just for thoughts.. down there you can find bargains as a result of high taxes and low demand in car with big engines.

Check this out! (you ll need a google site translation)

If my wife could understand my alfa virus that would be my second 916 :P

Or a big fat Brera with more power..

As far as I know petrol prices are low in Norway.
