You can check that the lever moves freely and the part it acts upon (underneath the rubber boot) does the same, but the hydraulic part is not that easy to check.

As I was afraid then.  I'll clean it, check the lever and re-grease the rubber boot and put it back on the car. It seems OK, and if it turns out that I need a new one, replacing it will be easy now that everything is no longer rusty and seized.

If I had a decent light source and a proper lift, I'd show you pics of my new shiny rear brake lines. If I take a photo now, it's just shades of dark and copper

Other news:

I gathered a service kit to be fitted in a month or so:

  • Liqui Moly Race 10W-60 5L
  • Oil and fuel filter
  • Liqui Moly 75W-90 fully synth transmission oil, 2L
  • Ethylene glycol, 5L.
  • ATE Racing Blue brake fluid

Remaining on the shopping list are:

  • Front and rear badges
  • New thermostat
  • Possibly a new brake force regulator or an ABS unit upgrade to 5.3
  • Exhaust fitting bits and pieces

Hahah that's... Great :D

Even though it's made by Kamasa and not Biltema, I gotta say this upholstery remover thingy is doing a great gig as a fork. I'm having Pytt I Panna ( which looks nasty?!) in the garage right now...
