Alfa Romeo Gtv & Spider Production Units

How many units of the Alfa Romeo 916 have been produced since 1995?

I have been searching for this for a long time but I have not found anything accurate.

Hi Thanos,

This book (when available) might have the information you are looking for. Could be a must have book for every 916 enthusiast.

http://www.amazon.com/Alfa-Romeo-916-GTV-Spider/dp/1847973965

Some more info here.

I have no idea how acurate these figures are and I am guessing you will have already checked out these sites.

Good luck with your search.

I have found only 30 cars in 1994, and their VIN's (probably slightly more to come)

mr Foskett found 103 cars produced in 1994...

in my opinion there are some more problems:

ex mr Foskett sais there are none 2.0 TS GTV's produced in 2004, i have found at least 4...(more to come)

also i have found all 1708 cars produced in 2004, also same number as pininfarina records(so it's twice confirmed), mr Foskett says 1712 cars(not even including the 2.0 TS GTVs) in 2004

on the rest I'm researching but, well, time needed is enormous, at least I feel that I'm doing it properly...

Guys I have a list of 103 chassis numbers for cars produced in 1994 - first chassis number 6000529 (february) last one 6001671 (december).

It may be the data I am working from is wrong, but I'm pretty confident in my numbers!

I have a 3.2V6 Q2 916 Spider. I bought it new in June 2005 and believe it may be the last RHD V6 spider produced before the Brera. I am trying to confirm this and attach the VIN plate number. As you can see it was manufactured in May 2005, so allowing a month for shipping and customs it could be said it was fresh out of the factory. Certainly it was the last V6 sold new in Australia.

The data plate on the 916 is located under the bonnet on the left hand wheel arch.

The Spider is a Lusso with electric roof, reversing sensors and Q2 transmission in stock condition so I don't know for sure but I suspect it has.

the Q2 was not availiable back in 2005..

Try to corner in 2nd gear and full throttle. If you spin your internal wheel, and the car as normally, tends to understeer, you dont have a Q2. If you dont spin, you have less understeer and you feel something keeping you at the inside of the corner (front in), you have the Q2.

The badge at the rear also, is not the original.

Must be a really rare car in Australia.

Yes I had the optional Q2 installed and yes it is rare in Australia. I also have a 3.2 GT with Q2.

If you haven't driven one with Q2 you would be considerably surpirsed at the total difference in handling. Q2 all but elimninates torque steer as well as a considerable reduction in understeer.

In the case of my GT it has removed ithis undesirable characteristic.

I had a Subaru RS Liberty 4WD and favourably compare the handling to the Alfas.

Rare as these two cars are they have no monetry value as depreciation in Australia makes more than your nose bleed.

This was the last Spider to arrive and be sold in Australia and the dealers seem to think it may have been the last RHD 916 which is what I am trying to find out.

no cars were ever made in 2005 nor 2006

last car was produced in 12/2004

Your with chassis number 07013895 was produced 01/2004 so no not even close to the last one

The data plate is different than ours
