Damgreg, That's a great idea on removing rubber seals under the wipers. I may want to do that. I have 3 fan units forcing airflow down and under the chassis to dissipate the heat from the turbo and engine. 2 are actually 8-in diameter aircon condensers from a space gear connected in series and 1-4-in fan from a pajero cooling (see pics).

Hello guys im new on the forum from alfaowners
BRX0804 replied to jonalfaspider's topic in Introduce Yourself
I agree, this website is great and very respectful. There are many nice people who supports your efforts and provides for sensible guidance. Thanks charlee and damgreg for offering me parts!!! There are practically NO parts for alfa here in the Philippines anymore. Alfa pulled out in the Philippines sometime Y2000. I don't think it was about the sales of Alfa but it was some sort of problems with the former owners, Proton of Malaysia. Heard a dealer is looking to bring back the Alfa here. If that happens I will have to say goodbye to my GTV and change to a 4C!!!. We have many European makes here to include: Jaguar, BMW, MBenz, Lambo, Ferrari, VW, Peugeot, Porsche, Audi, Volvo, Maserati, and Rolls Royce. I hope I did not missed any Euro brands. Squadra 916 is GREAT!!! -
Filip, Are you talking about my project ALFA? if so, I have ordered some joints and shocks already though I have yet to take down the entire suspension. Will see what from there what I would need. Though a good friend of INSPIRE was happy to sell me his Koni CoilOvers from a Corrado which my mechanic can adopt to my GTV. Charlee and Damgreg were happy to donate their former calipers but will see if i really need those. Though we were contemplating of making a double caliper front brake system so Charlees calipers will be of great need. We have done this in the past in some of the race cars my mechanic has done. This will be very interesting on how the entire suspension will end up to look like. If I will use the Koni Coil Overs, will sell to Inspire my koni front sports shocks or use it later on an another GTV project. Overall, I will write on my post of what parts I would need. We alfistis here needs your support because alfa parts here are NIL.

I saw in Federal Tires C5 having his alfa repaired. Lets get in touch with him and lets have a 916 meet!!!!

:holi2:Nice meeting up with you. My Alfa is up and running with new turbo seal kits. Though have many electrical issues and heating problem issues. We will figure these matters out but are of minor issues actually. when the suspension systems are in we will do fine tuning the entire car already. Be happy to sell you my BOV. This is the perfect BOV for what your needs are. Definitely people will here this from a block away.....

One wild idea i am thinking of was to do a dual front caliper brake system. We have done this in our other cars. Charlees front calipers will be in good use here.... This should stop the car much better than buying Brembos at lesser cost.... just a thought. But if we do this, will send you guys a detailed photo of how we did it.
-
Damgreg/Charlee..... you guys are awesome!!! I don't need them right now but I will keep these in mind when I go stripping off the entire suspension system and placing the new shocks, bushings (if gazella racing ever delivers), pads, etc.. The rear subframe is undergoing some reinforcements in the shock mounts because there was an incident here that the rear shock absorber holder broke off. I should be able to get them tom and have it sandblasted and ready for paint. I will repaint all the suspension arms and others. I will be looking into the reinforcements of the entire suspension system to include the fabrication of engine strut bars etc. Most of the builds in this project is customized parts. We are even contemplating of making our own front lower A-Arms that could fit a readily accessible ball joint here in the Philippines. No worries, we build race cars here so we know what we can do or not. Though we have pretty good idea already of what to do with the entire suspension system.

Great photo shoots and best way to show how something beautiful will be made more beautiful and exciting!!! I do love sports cars as I have a couple of them that are also under a project stage but the GTV is the one I am more attached to. Elise is also one of the cars I would fancy..... good choice.

Just a thought, Damreg are you selling your front brake calipers?
-
-
Damreg... I have fully paid for my orders to Gazzella since June 2013. This amount is not measly it is a large amounts for a lot of parts. I don't want to mention the exact amount. What name should I call them??? These smileys should tell you my emotions but I am trying to keep cool no matter what.....
-
Guys, thanks for the brake inputs. I am just waiting for Gazella to send me over my stuff. And we are waiting for months mind you. They only answer ones a week or sometimes after a month !!!
-
Is this still available? How much would you want it for?
-
GTV VB. Thanks for the inputs. As long as they are OEMs I believe I am pretty safe to assume that I am upgrading to original specs.
-
Filip, thanks for the encouragement. It just so happens when I go to a section of the car to fix I see so many wrong things done by the former. Yes, I am restoring it to its former glory. But further to this I am upgrading them based on the latest technology I know of. 5 smiles for you Filip....

Filip, The former owner was on a budget. So what he did was cut off the rear aluminum shock mounting points on the top and welded in the shortest possible Kayaba Shocks. Actually it did work but the problems were that the shocks tend to hit the lower arms. Moreso, when I rode the car ones the new mounts that they installed tore from the welded areas. Rewelding a new or better aluminum shock mounts was an option but the problem is I may not get the angles correctly and that I was scared of the welds braking loose even if it is done properly. With the horsepower available for me suspension stability is a critical matter. Nevertheless, my rear subframe arrived and I am reinforcing the mounting areas. Will show pics when it is done. Yes, there are so many technicalities done with this car that I will be writing a novel for it. I have taken many pictures of the build and details as I can. I have posted some of them in the modification and acoustic forums. This project is not yet over.......
-
Herewith are the existing suspension on my alfa. Notice the rear shocks has kayabas with new welded mounts. These are things you don't do. I am having this corrected by purchasing a rear subframe from a breaker. Will have all joints reinforced, cleaned and painted (white, blue, red are my current choices). When all my underchassis stuff comes in I will redo everything in one build.
-
Wow a MONTREAL !!!! ....those are great looking cars. Would love to have Brera soon
-
Damreg, I have not touched anything on the existing underchassis yet. I am on it now. Have ordered already the Konis, Tarox cross drilled brakes, yellow pads, joints, polybushes and even a rear subframe!!!. Everything should be in by end of March. Though I am still making some plans of what else needs to be done. And now these brakes. I am trying to contact the former owner and see if he did something with the front or rear disk brakes. Can anybody with a V6 2.0TB send me a photo of how their front suspension (shocks and disk brakes) looks like.
-
Filip, Thanks for the advise. I think I may have a bigger problem than that. I am slowly reviewing the images I got from my car and just took photos of my brake calipers. The former owner might have converted the damn calipers!!!. I am reassessing everything yet, Because if he did convert the brakes, I will have to revert it back to original form. I have a reliable breaker who is ready to ship a very good set of calipers. I do hope I do not go to that situation. Will update anyone who reads this post. My topic should have been "how not to rebuild an alfa.... '
-
Guys, Can anybody tell me if my front brake calipers are ATE or LUCAS? My car is a 1996 GTV V6 2.0 TB.
-
Viscontimne/Kunev, Ricambi are one of the suppliers I do get for parts too. There are lots of other reliable suppliers out there who have delivered to me with very high marks.... alfaholics, rockauto, clover breakers, etc etc.. They have been very helpful technically too in my orders. I have ordered parts all over the world and have had no experience of false deliveries. Its only with Gazzella Racing that this matter happened. And now I am just seeking for HELP.... I am just praying this will really have a happy ending Thanks guys.
-
Welcome. A newbie myself. Are those rims 17-in or 18-in?
-
Viscontimne, the words are perfect Filipino language. I just had to preserve such a beautiful (aka... "maganda") car. Unfortunately I had to mess with the engine. You must have visited Manila. Let me know if you are here in Manila will be happy for some chats or beers when you are here.

Friends, I have a supplier problem in UK. I had placed and fully paid for some alfa parts to Gazzella Racing since June 2013 and they have not delivered a single piece. They were not able to send me the coil overs that I had purchased from them and some other accessories. This was a very big order and they have been leaving me hanging for quite some time. Our recent agreement was that I will redo my orders and they were to confirm the delivery last week. But NOTHING..... If anyone of our friends in this forum or in UK have any influence over Gazzella Racing, I would highly appreciate it if you can give these guys some "BS" and tell them to deliver my stuff. I am a guy who does not wish to loose my cool because I have other things to do than mess with this @##%^&*( kind of guys. It will be the last of me buying from them and I will NOT recommend them... BIG Thanks in advance as to who will spread this and help me on this matter.
