  2. Gbinsb - GTV V6 TB project

Hello Kunev, Initially I figured that my AC lines and pump were in the way of the inter cooler and bigger radiator. So I removed the lines and all AC stuff. Replaced the AC pulley with a bigger pulley for the steering pump and fabricated the new steering pump support. I can use the standard aux belt. Afterwords I might have saved the AC, or rerouted the lines like I did with the steeringpump line. I made some room for the radiator by adjusting the support. So maybe in the future.. I actually don’t remember the core size of my intercooler, tube is 57mm diameter. But much bigger won’t fit nice imo. the TD05 was from the earlier 164 correct. I had most parts, so it fitted on the stock support and 60mm downpipe exhaust. That is pretty convenient. Only thing I had to adjust was oil return pipe. Connection on the oil carter was different from my GTV and 164 engine. I rebuilded it to the 16G big compressor. Unfortunately I didn’t choose for the billet compressor wheel at that time, but that’s ok for now. Turbo is good, for at least 300hp. I used kinugawa actuator, this works perfectly, the original was gone already on my Garrett turbo. I had to fabricate my own bracket to fit the 16G compressor housing. The blowoff valve is from HKS, and doing a perfect job. Much better than the Forge crap. And I used a Mocal oil cooler as a replacement for the Stock rusted one. For the clutch, all I know it holds 35% more than stock. See pictures below for the difference. It has been over 8 years that I purchased it, so i don’t know the fine details anymore

0Finally after 8 years of abandoning this project, the beginning of this year I continued. It’s driving again and has MoT. I also did a A/C delete, walboro 255l fuel pump, TD05 with 16G conversion turbo, FMIC, bigger radiator, Q2 diff with enforced clutch and a AFM to MAF conversion. Now I have to dial in the bigger turbo

  5. 166 Brembo Brake Caliper mounting brackets

You can contact him directly, his name is Rainier Straetmans r.straetmans@hotmail.com. In the past I bought some parts from him. He can tell you when and how to get them.
  6. 166 Brembo Brake Caliper mounting brackets

This is the guy I have contacted, he told me that within a month he had new brackets. Price will probably be less than 100 euro.
  7. 166 Brembo Brake Caliper mounting brackets

I bought them too expensive several years ago. But on our local forums they are sold for around 125 euro.
  8. My GTV V6 TB

    Impressive and respect
  9. 166 Brembo Brake Caliper mounting brackets

I also didn't have to grind off anything from my caliper when I installed mine. Check my picture below from the set I have installed.
  10. Gbinsb - GTV V6 TB project

So we proceeded to rebuild the engine with the refurbished parts. we cleaned the engine pretty good no sludge left. Cleaned the pistons and rods, and installed new piston rings. new valve guides, reseated the valves and flattened the gasket surface. Honed the cylinders. The crankshaft was polished and didn't need special oversized bearings, but.. The rods in my engine have oil sprayers in the rods. The new original bearings don't have the oil hole anymore.. It seems that Alfa revised the rods in the 90's and leave out the oil spraying hole. So also the new bearing don't have the hole anymore. I then bough the Glyco after marked bearings, they still have the hole SO now I can still use this function. Installed the cylinders with pistons. When we installed the main bearing caps, I was a bit confused. The engine overhaul manual wrote 25nm and 79 degrease angle torque. The alfa repair manual wrote 84 - 93 nm and talked about lock nuts with 25 nm. When I disassembled the engine I didn't see any extra lock nuts, but my 2 middle bearings where not round but eclipse shape. so that was not good, probably the nuts where not tightened properly because of the confusion with a previous rebuild. I found out that alfa used lock nuts in the past on the 164 v6 engine, but started using the angle torque on all new engines and leave the lock nuts. So that is what I did, 25 nm and 79 degrees. I measured roughly about 122 - 136 nm. I started also cleaning the auxiliary parts so that we can fit the heads with nice clean parts.
  11. My GTV V6 TB

I think so, at least you get a error message in the ECU.
  12. Saved another....

Nice collection! You take good care for them
  13. Gbinsb - GTV V6 TB project

We started the disassembly couple of weeks ago. The crankshaft has been damaged a little bit. So this has been send to a specialist, just like the heads and cylinders. after this we have cleaned the engine
  14. The TBI!

That is an excellent engine inside enjoy your new ride!
  15. Gbinsb - GTV V6 TB project

A dutch guy made some adapters for the OEM brake calipers to get a bigger offset. I used the 147 GTA rear brake discs. just for the looks Front brakes are Brembo GT sport 305mm discs from a GTV 3.0 24V. The gearbox has been opened up to replace some synchomess rings. Yes its a VDO gauge, pain in the ass to install in a P1.. The 155 cams are not new, but over 20 years old but they look like new and after measurements they are within specs! Fabian is a very adaptive guy, he can adapt almost anything
  16. My GTV V6 TB

Love your P2 conversion. Still one of my dirtiest wishes But I probably need a complete P2 car start my project. So that will be for the long term sort of say. Also the alcantara is very nice, I really like this. Alper Musa did a hel of a job with alcantara For the GT Toora wheels I coated them in dark metal with a high gloss finish. I didn't like the gun metal gray that much. they use it allot on the subaru rims. This was more my thing.
  17. My GTV V6 TB

You have your MES almost working. Than you can read out the cooling water temp and the air temp of the AFM. Just turn on your ignition but not start and read out the parameters write them down. also read out you AFM value. I have some similar afm loggings of my tb at idle.
  18. My GTV V6 TB

Try to read oud your AFM, it has also a temp sensor...
  19. My GTV V6 TB

No you can just buy it from ATP, I also bought it and works perfect. http://www.ebay.de/itm/LEERLAUFSTELLER-ALFA-ROMEO-SPIDER-2000-2-0-V6-Turbo-BJ-90-00-/371134029056?pt=DE_Autoteile&fits=Make%3AAlfa+Romeo|Model%3AGTV|Platform%3A916C_|Type%3A2.0+V6+Turbo&hash=item56694fdd00 ECU adapts directly. When I replaced mine it works instantly.
  20. My GTV V6 TB

Maybe you should look at your idle steppemotor, this could really mess up your engine. This was my problem, you can find one cheap not ATP @ eBay.
  21. Hi, My name is Gerben, and I'm looking around this forum for some time now. I tough it is good to introduce myself. I'm living in the Netherlands and enjoying Alfa cars as a hobby. I like to drive them, but maybe more to work on them I share my hobby with my brother who also have a passion for Italian cars. Over the years we have had some cars, but I like to stick to them when I favor them. It started with a 33 1.7 16V QV about ten years ago. really loved it, and had to work on it many times We have had a second 33 16V, because nothing lasts. In 2009 we bought the 916 TB I was very happy with it, and started to think what to improve. One year later we bought a 145 QV to succeed the 33, because we needed a daily driver. Just before we got rid of the 33. We made the car like new, renewed many parts and when it drove the best we must sell it.. We have bought a 147 GTA This was also a extremely fun car to have. And we still enjoy it! We have modified and renewed many things. The last car we bought is a Sprint 1,5 QV, but is is a special one. It has a engine swap with a 1.7 16V It still needs a bit work, but it is manageable. Hope that we can drive it next summer Ow yea, some where down the line, there also came a 33 1.7 16V Permanent 4 WD. but this is really a project when we have the time. I will start a Project topic for the 916 TB, because we are rebuilding the engine at the moment .
  22. Gbinsb introduction - GTV V6 TB

Yes It are the bigger brakes 330mm. I sandblasted the calipers and painted them red again like new. They where realy ugly One of many things renewed
  23. Gbinsb introduction - GTV V6 TB

Yes it's a wrapping, I can always go back to my nero 601
  24. My GTV V6 TB

Does you engine runs like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0bcd2AxDeU btw just replace your vapor valve if it's clicking to loud. I've had it on my GTV TB and replaced it, sound is gone. I also have it on my 147GTA, and I still needs to replace that valve. over time they just make more noise.
  25. Gbinsb introduction - GTV V6 TB

Thanks all, The GTA is not matte black anymore.. there was a small accident with a biker. I changed it 1,5 year ago to matte anodized aluminum red Inspired when I was at the 4C introduction color at Geneva.
