Here is just some photos from one big automotive related trip, that I and two other guys made this year with two italian cars with lampredi 16V turbo engine

It was long trip, which take 13 days and around 4800km. I thought to post just several pictures, let say 10-15, but there is so much pictures . Unfortunately I don't have pictures from driving on Spa. I haven't posted pictures from more tourist destination-cities, museums,beer fest. P.S. If charlee is not happy about uploading so much pictures, I can try to reduce them .

Hi and welcome to the forum . Look like that was what a project and now you have one of the most powerful GTVs in the world . Have you thought about some other option for the location of air filter. For example in GTV TB windshield washer "tank" is a bag in the boot and the air filter box is at the top of the fender. GTV is heavier car than the Coupe in general, so maybe this car is a little slower than previous one.

And the next upgrade to the car is made this spring as was planed from some time - suspension. The car was with red Eiback Pro-Kit springs, which are -35mm I think (or -30mm...) and not available anymore and old oily standard black dampers. When I change to bigger wheel and tyres (from 215/40-R16 to 215/40-R17) rear tyres start to rub inside of fenders on unevenness, without any passenger at the back and the tyres are much closer to the inside of the car (from wheels 7.5J ET35 and 20mm spacers at the rear to 7J ET37 and 12mm spacers now). Problem regarding suspension for this model is not much of an options available and after some thought I decide to try with this kit H&R monotube coilovers for Alfa Romeo 155 2.5 V6 from shop.alfisti.net . This is essentyally Bilstein dampers produced for H&Rand H&R matched springs and not adjustment of stiffness front and rear. Rear dampers are shorter, because of -40mm lowering at the back. I did not find any opinion at all for using of this kit on Q4, but from what I have read suspension between Q4 and V6 have to fit on other also. So there was some uncertainties with this purchase ... . The Q4 is heavier car in general and most of this difference is at the back I think. H&R springs are generally very stiff from what I have heard and read so was thinking, that this may work on this car. During install was seen that everything fit on the car, but ... at the rear there is big problem. When the car was put on the ground the rear just "sit on the tyres"! Unfortunately I didn't see it on real or photo, but was explained to me with associations for old citroens or citroen with blown spheres, not seen top part of the tyre from side... So at the back was used old Eibach springs at new dampers from that kit. At the front fit just fine with coilovers set to middle position as from the box. Here is one picture how is now on the back My impression is that there is definitely improvement from before, haven't heard rubbing on rear fenders (without some passenger at the back) and even more comfort from before. Till now my impressions are generally from normal driving in city and highway, so haven't try it with spirited driving on corners yet ... but soon may have impressions from some really interesting places . But with "big" (for this model!) wheels and very low profile tyres (215/40-17, this size is regarded as max on 155) and stiff, short move suspension all imperfections of the road are feel and roads here are not perfect at all unfortunately. Will post some pictures of the car soon .

I also vote for V6. More valuable and enjoyable car and also with great sound and 12V Spider is very rare car .

One old, but interesting purchase, that I haven't show here. Intake manifold with fuel rail from Lancia Kappa 16V turbo: This is known as the best standard intake manifold for Lampredi's 2.0 16V turbo engine and very sought-after. It benefit from higher flow, runners, that shot straight into combustion chamber and easier access to injectors and fuel rail. For now I don't plan to install it and also fitting it in Q4 engine bay, where there isn't much space, is not an easy task. But its good to have it available :).

A friend of mine also suggest me to put Alfa script, but I prefer to use the real manufacturer name on them . And also they are not used on any alfa originally. It is really a close fit to the wheels! There is enough space between calipers and spokes of the wheels, but as spacer need to be hubcentric can not be used a little smaller than this. When balance weight for the wheels have to be put also calipers have to be taken into consideration . But that is mostly because the calipers are huge and lug mounted and just can not go more internally radially if you understand me. So now they are a little bit outside the disc and a little bigger than 330mm disc will be better match. Here is some pictures during the process ... with 3 bolts on the wheel I really haven't consider 166 brembo calipers as upgrade for this car and also for the GTV as I wanted something not so standard and more special for both. And that was accomplished for both :). I haven't compared their weight related to 166 brembo calipers as I haven't own 166 calipers and also recently try to find some info about that, but can not find anything . Also during this research I found some conflicting information about brembo calipers on later 147/156 GTA, GT 3.2 (330x32 discs) . Here is the information, that I found: 17Z without pads ...................................................... 10lbs 4.5 kg 17Z with pads ................................................................... 6.3 kg 18Z with pads ................................................................... 6.5 kg Alfa later 147/156 GTA,GT 3.2 (for 330x32mm discs): -with pads ..................................................................... 5.0 kg -with pads etc.(ePER ?) .................................................... 6.39 kg -without pads ................................................................. 2.8 kg \ -with pads ..................................................................... 4 kg > same source -with pads and bracket .................................................... 4.6 kg / Alfa first 147/156 GTA, GTV 3.0/3.2 (for 305x28mm discs): -with pads ..................................................................... 3.8 kg \ -with pads and pins ......................................................... 4.4 kg / from same guy in different topics Stock Alfa 156: -with pad holder and pads ................................................ 6.6 kg - same source as above three So especially for the brembo from later GTAs/GT 3.2 the truth is not clear from above information. Will try to find some info about 166 brembo, but I already searched a lot. If someone have such information, have them or know a guy that have them installed will be good to share with us .

Some news here . This summer the upgrade of the brakes was accomplished and at the same time OZ Ultraleggera 17" wheels was installed with 4 new Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 215/40-17 tyres . Here is some pictures: I haven't put OZ center caps, but have them all and also ordered 4 new. In short a lot of custom modifications, special parts and time was involved in this upgrade. Brembo 17Z calipers was used with 330x32mm EBC standard discs and EBC yellowstuff pads. Unfortunately I did not succeed to find long wobble, locking bolts ... I have arranged a custom order for some to one local company, but after some time of waiting to be made was known that they are not as long as requested and currently can not make such bolts. Now is time for bedding in of rotors and pads .

Hi and welcome here :). You have a nice GTV . There is turbocharged busso in your country I think. I have read threads by "turbonutters" in another alfa forum. You even may know him and if not it, will be good to find him ;). What is this turbocharger? I don't see any brand on it, but hope to not be chinese one. Can you tell us more about this standalone ECU? That is some SA brand I understand with quick search.

My cars are in "winter sleep", but I do not rest . An another accidental purchase, that I make, but just can not refuse to make it at that price . It may be related with this car in the future, so put it in this topic ... but may also be used with other car ... And here it is taa daa Another set of OZ wheels, but this time new ones, in the boxes ... and they are different model. OZ Racing Alleggerita HLT 16" 7J 4x100 ET37 Titanium Tech And this is really cool! Each wheel is inspected and weighted by OZ's technology manager Sergio and also a document is signed by him :). And I think that Alleggerita HLT is the only OZ's wheel, that have "lightness certificate". Prize for their lightest wheel and nice attitude to their fine product :). I'm note sure, but think that maybe this is lightest wheel model with TUV certificate. And a little more info about HLT technology from OZ's site: "High Light Technology. Manufacturing technology to improve lightweight characteristics to the wheel, with an even higher performance driving dynamics and a structural integrity to surpass the most stringent safety tests. Try at dealers of Alfa Romeo original parts. Look at this site (if you haven't checked there yet) -> alfafiatlanciaparts.com. If you can not find а new original 916 Spider badge you can source one from cars for spares. In my opinion don't go for later model badge, let it be original especially on visual side .

Hi and welcome to our forum :). And now on topic. I move your topic to more appropriate location. I also made some research and understand that latest Spider have slightly different badge and badge for it is available, unfortunately I also can not find a place where such badge is offered. But I notice, that on www.alfaworkshop.co.uk site is showed picture of 916 badge, but description is for badge of later model Spider. I'm pretty sure that they have mistaken the picture, but you can ask them about that and for real picture of available badge.
