Welcome here . Tell us some more details about your cars and will be better with pictures . P.S. Is 1.6 TS weak for 156?
-
Another welcome to the forum . Great introduction! I see that you have become a TB fan . You have luck in the crash and that is most important in such situation. So sad for the GTV, it was great car. But you have used many nice features from it. There isn't many TBs with changed turbocharger as far as I know. There is some users on here which have done turbo upgrade. Did you know exact model of your turbocharger? So you have a quife diff. Is the diff bought by you or this upgrade was done before you get the car?
-
Welcome to this forum . Looks like there is a little invasion to the forum from Greece . Waiting for your thread.
-
Welcome Dimitris . GTV is sportier brother of 155 . Did you going to events at Serres circuit - "international alfa romeo track day" and "the italian job"?
-
The GTV is already in the garage for the winter. But his winter sleep will be interrupted at some point . I get my car from the service and after the driving to my hometown I think that my speedometer issue is finally repaired . I had one other strange problem. Before that last driving of the car I have a little petrol in the tank and I go to one petrol station to fill the tank and after filling to top (done by two attempt, because first time the filling stopped by itself after 27-28l) the car don't wanted to start . The starter was working but the engine don't start. I try several times, disconnected the battery, try to push start the engine but with no success . Then after some time when checking of fuses and trying to remove the fuel supply hose from fuel rail (with not success) and try again to fire up the engine and this time it starts. Then I shut down and start up the engine several times and that issue have not repeat again. So I don't know what exactly happen when filling with fuel on petrol station and what was changed so engine have started. And from now on the GTV is in "only 100 octane mode" for future upgrades and tune .

Welcome to the site and alfa ownership . I wish you many enjoyable moments with the car. And remember, it can be pretentious and willful , so be gentle and patient with it . Alfas are like another girlfriend .
-
And lets write some "south" thoughts in that "northern" topic . First of all GTV track car is interesting idea, you will bring some style on the track . I think is good that you don't rush with performance upgrades and want to feel every "performance" change on the car (this is related of course with the financial side). I will advice you to make some track day with the car in standard form or close to standard to see from where you begin. Good on the track can be achieved not only with expensive parts. You have one big problem and that is the weight of the car. So as first upgrade have to be weight reduction in my opinion. This will make the job of the brakes and suspension easier and also driveability will be much improved. At that point track pads, braided lines and good brake fluid. And in the beginning you can try with only sport springs (and replaced all bushings), because they are relatively cheap and coilovers are expensive. Strut braces will be good upgrades for track car. P.S. I think that you have a TB. Whats happen with it?

The black center console dials looks very classy and stylish in my opinion, I like them . But with your red interior red center dial may fit just fine. I see that you have changed the backlight also. I feel a little envy about the speedometer to 280 of phase 3 models . So you charlee design dials and other things probably? Thats interesting, I begin to think about that .
-
Hi and welcome . It is good that you have heard good things for this site from other places . Please show us your car and write some things about it.
-
Welcome here . Are you have all these cars right now? With what engines are red GTV and the Spider? They all look good .

In most cases there is not difference when bleeding ABS and non ABS vehicle. The difference is when the vehicle have additional reservoir for ABS and our model don't have such as far as I know. About early kicking of ABS maybe with better stopping now the ABS module recognize "emergency" braking and activate it. From what I have read ABS are "self learning", so with more cycles it will be "trained" (I'm not sure for that). So be sure you have bleed the brake properly and drive for a while. P.S. I have send you a PM some time ago!

Hi and welcome here . I think that I have seen your TB on alfaowner . Is it a blue one with conversion to phase 3? So you have sold that car. Can you give us some more info about it (is the conversion done by you and what other have been done to it) and some pictures will be welcome .

Hello guys im new on the forum from alfaowners
kunev replied to jonalfaspider's topic in Introduce Yourself
Another welcome to the forum from me. You are real 916 fan . Show us some more pictures of that couple. You are right about the cars on here, they are very inspiring (especially with a good photoshoot) . The V6 will be some different experience for you, for sure . Try one, but it can be addictive . -
charlee, is that some local even? Good 916 group . And where is alfa maniac, he isn't constantly on the ship probably.
-
Greetings charlee . Waiting for your impressions. I have notice more pedal travel and also have read such feedback for other cars. The travel of the pedal depend on the ratio between area of master cylinder and sum of areas of calipers pistons. So if that ratio is not changed after changing of calipers, the travel of pedal shouldn't be changed. And now I have forgotten what was before upgrade (I haven't driven other GTV).

About dials, here is what can offer one bulgarian company - link 1 , link 2 and link 3 .
-
Why I don't see charlee's car there ? Also from these pictures looks like there isn't much 916s .

Welcome here to another GTV TB owner from Turkey . Looks like that model have some fans there . And now with the question and comments . I have never heard of that brand for suspension parts - Vogland. How lower are your springs than standard? What model is your blow off - DV26? I haven't heard of replacement air filter for our model from HKS, so this should be some universal open filter, maybe Super Power Flow. I haven't heard of KV89 ignition leads. You maybe have type it wrong and you have KV85. "All car racing" is ECU tuner, right? Do they offer different chip variants for our model like Normal,Extreme and Economical for example. How much more additional hp and torque do they promise. Is the tuning made on dyno. I'm wait for results and impressions . Koni Sport springs . Probably the springs and dampers are full kit - STR.T or Sport. Momo rear strut bar for 156 .
-
ooo Joris no, please don't do it . They was great looking wheels . Sorry, just a joke with you . That is my opinion, but the wheels and car is your. So its all to your taste . P.S. If sometimes accidentally come across on some Ultraleggera-s in 5x100 in 17" please tell me .
-
Nice car you have, but unlike butt head I'm not sure for the "shiny finish" of the wheels. What size are the wheels and tyres? Do you have spacers at the back? Is the Q2 installed after you own the car or before you. You can post some pictures of the interior also .

Summer is the time for such a journey . From what I have read there isn't fixed date at which it is closed, depend on the weather there. One day it can be open and next to be closed. Here is one link for it - http://alpenrouten.de/Stilfser-Joch-Stilfserjoch-Stelvio-Passo-dello_point482.html . In the upper left corner next to Pass is the state - with red color - is closed (gesperrt) and with green color is open. I think that it is place which must be visited with the appropriate car .

The Motul oil is not used yet, because of the problem that I have with the speedometer. My speedometer is not working at all at the moment and my car is again in the service for repairing of this issue. I will use it when my speedometer is working constantly, in short I want to be filled just once in the gearbox . Yes, the quantity of transmission oil is 2l. If you have installing a Q2 diff, from what I have read it is a little bigger in displacement and with it the quantity is a little less. Another "tip" for installing of Q2 is to be used full kit, not only the differential itself. I think that Quaife diff is sell with "full kit", but if is only the differential it is highly recommended supporting parts to be changed also.

First just a little correction to the info in the link. In the title is mentioned GT28R and known with this short name is another Garrett turbocharger - GT2560R. For such project will be needed nor ordinary car mechanic. In short someone with experience with such custom installation and who can made custom things. Maybe you have to try to find someone like my friend which made exhaust systems and other specific weldings or simply to give your car to some reputable tuner (it don't have to be world famous with big expensive garage). Maybe you will go to Germany (if there isn't option for you in Austria). When recently my friend who will work on my car looked it closely he sad that it will not be easy and cheap. All bolts on turbo and exhaust are very corroded on my car (normally for its age and their place). There isn't much space for bigger turbo. For injectors it depends also on the ECU which you will use. For high impedance injectors one step forward is from 166 3.0/Punto GT 0280150701 ~240cc/min. But my advice is to go for bigger one. For intercooler there is two main types - tube and fins and bar and plate. Each of them have it positive and negative sides. If it is not big one it will be easy to be mounted under the bumper. If the front bar is not cut it have to be low. Cutting inside of the bumper will depend on the width and depth. There are cheap chinese intercoolers and good brands that are not cheap. For our model something like this as design will be "easiest" to install in my opinion. For replacing ECU, if it have to be the cheapest option - Megasquirt. There is many options, but it is not cheap and also depends on who will be installing and tuning. I think Link ECU is good in price-quality . If you want sequential injection and ignition this will be very expensive for your 6 cylinder motor.
-
Give us some info about the turbo . Is it brand new or second hand? I have something in mind about the model . So you are on performance side of upgrading of the car, welcome to the club and good luck . The most important is to be satisfied by the car in the end . I think is good idea differential to be changed before power upgrade, but it is costly upgrade. About the calipers stickers, what temperatures did you reach?
-
Very good photos and car Thanos . Have you thought about some other wheels ? What you have on the caliper, some sticker .
