Feather light clutch is a fantasy thing.. But when the clutch release bearing is worn in the fingers ofvthe pressureplate it will go heavy although it handles the torque without any problems New clutch will make a big difference, been there.. Working on upgraded turbo / intercooler??
-
Great you made good progress this year! I installed exactly the same intercooler: core is L550mm x H180mm and I think 65mm thick with indeed 57mm connecting pipes. I used D55x1,5mm stainless pipes and bents together with 54mm silicon hoses. I klocked the exit from the compressor much more downwards so that the intercooler pipe goes under the airco compressor and its pipes. The pressure hose from the steeeing pump rerouted in front of the coolers (in the front bumper) to save some space.

Ah, OK! 👍 Looks good. I have LED H4 units in my classic Range Rover: loads of light. 👌
-
Looks like you change whole H4 projector unit for LED one?

A bit late but... 😁 Yes, many cars have louvres there but I think there will be a lot of dirt and water coming in while driving on wet and/or dirty roads.. 🤔 And still it will not really cool the oil while driving slowly.

Let's start a dedicated topic about my 100year+ upgrade project. In progresss: - 305 Brembo with 24V fusee - Eibach springs - Bilstein/Koni AND: - Garrett GT2560R (aka GT28R) - 70mm downpipe - 550x180x65mm FMIC Engine will stay completely standard for now, first all above has to be finished. It's equiped with a Squadra chipset, hopefully it will be driveable with this. I have a set of GTa injectors and also a set "Green- Giants" on the shelve. I am quite sure that in the end the original motormanagement has to go too.. so on the shelve is a Megasquirt motormanagement system as well. Goal: 300horses... 400Nm... No idea at the moment if this is realistic... Maybe 280hp / 360Nm is...

Correction: One spark plug and one marketing plug. And well... TS engine is 13 in a dozen: Found in AR 145, 146, 147, 156, GT and yes, also in the GTV and Spider!

24V headers adapted for use on Busso 12V engine. For 916 Spider 12V and possibly also for 155 V6. Details will follow.

Interesting: I thought all Phase3 916's were 3.2? Funny thing about the clutch: My 1995 TB had also an 235mm clutch. The replacement one is 228mm which I expected in the first place. Did exange straight away. 235mm is standard on 3.2 916 (and 147/156 Gta).

It is not always freezing in Russia...

It is al about how far the spokes of the wheel go inwards. So the ET (Offset) is not the only factor. I can check on original Phase2 16" wheels how much space measured from the mounting flange to the spokes you need. They are really close to the Brembo's, like max 5mm.

Mmm... no thanks, I prefer my FMIC..
-
Mmm... TB runs very rich @ idle so something is wrong somewhere... It drives very good but smells quite bad..
-
Mmm... there is not much activity here these days.. So that is part of your "problem" I guess. But anyway.. Welcome!!
-
Welcome! Very nice 916-combination!
-
Next thing needed: V6 gearbox (with JTD bellhouse). Or from Fiat 5 cilinder.
-
Nice project! Same intercooler I have fitted to my TB, which is still about 240hp @ just 5000/5500rpm. It would have been a good opportunity to get rid of the balance shafts, which are also not present in the basically identical 1.8TS.

I have no EL FP, I have something much more special which gives also more powah! And, if you still want EL FP you can use those for a 3.0 24V (which are easier to find) on a 12V with my big bore headers. EL gives a better sound maybe (you need also the right silencers) but also a lot of shaving the pavement.

Here some pictures to compare: 1st pic: Some comparing measurements. Primairies are 40% bigger considering the inner diameter ID (not 36% as stated on the cardboard, which is is the difference in area of the OD). 2nd pic: 12V headers fit easily inside 24V headers.
-
Nice one. Take care with those Brembo's: afaik they will not fit behind those very nice wheels you have!
-
That model of the Busso? From 164? The alternator is up front and gearbox looks quite different..
-
No dampers, just Helmholtz resonators..

Well, the new oil cooler arrangement worked out nicely. Also the OEM thermostat in the oilfilter mount works like it should: oil lines stay perfectly cold till oil temp reaches 85/90°C. Next job is to mount a thermoswitch controlled fan behind the oilcooler to get better oil temp control at low roadspeeds and also enhance totall cooling capacity.
