  1. Cup going well but my original GTV has suffered an interior fire ... a write off I suspect. Seems to have started due to the mirror switch burning. Horror story!

  7. Hello!

    Good looking car.. Welcome!
  8. Regional sections

I think that Squadra 916 is a really great resource . I have owned and run Alfas since the 1970s, but I have learned so much of value about 916 series cars from you guys . Without the skills, enthusiasm and knowledge available on the forums I would have struggled to do some of the work that has now transformed my GTV V6. The discussions are invaluable and whilst earning a living has got in the way of doing anything much with the car over the winter and spring, I still look at the site on a regular basis, just to stay up to date. I suppose that there aren't that many of us who value our cars enough to be regarded as real alfisti - but Squadra 916 is invaluable to those of us who do. I'm not sure that we have sufficient numbers to support individual sections and I don't want anything to happen that would detract from the forums. I quite like the fact that we are able to pool knowledge and experience from all over the world and centralise it in one accessible venue. I'm not against the idea of sections as such, but I think they might just be a distraction. I don't know how many UK based members we have or whether we need to try to recruit in any event?. The truth is that I rather like things as they are!
  9. Hello from Wolves

Hello! If you need help or advice with the GTV may I recommend Adrian at WAD Autodevelopments in Ettingshall ? The telephone number is 01902 401711. Adrian is an Alfa specialist and the business has been there since forever. He knows his stuff and his prices are sensible. Welcome to Alfaworld!

Ouch! but it will be great when it's done. The car looks fantastic..
  14. Stickers

I had no trouble at all, but I had used this type of decal before. It might be helpful to send out an instruction sheet for first time users!
  15. Which GTV?

1337 is right. If mileage checks out it should be a good unmolested car. A great colour combination too. Looks good!
  16. Stickers

Put the stickers on today. They look great. Thanks for organising them!

  20. I am the newest of the new, but I have owned 3 916 series Alfas. I had a very early 3 litre which I sold in circa 2000 and I always missed that car. I owned it for about 3 years and it made me grin every time I drove it. I have just bought a red 3litre GTV with71k on the clock, a very full service history and everything you would hope for in a well maintained car. It's going to be a project and will be improved as time and money allow. My daily driver is a 159 1750Ti. I owned my first Alfa ( a Sud 1200Ti) in 1979 and since then I think that I have probably owned, err, somewhere between 30 - 35 ... I actually lost count about a decade ago. I've had BMWs ( hiss....) and even a Maserati 4200 GT and all sorts of fast Fords etc, but the 3 litre GTV is still without doubt my favourite machine. Photos will follow when I work out how to upload them... watch this space! Cheers Alfaman51
  21. Hello from darkest Worcestershire

Thank you one and all. Pictures will follow. It's been a busy couple of days. I have collected a new rear panel from Northamptonshire and bought a " Cup" front spoiler via eBay. I have been speaking to my tame body shop regarding the paintwork and trying to find some Brembo 330mm front discs and callipers. I have even found time to drive the car! So far, so good....

Any news on getting more stickers?
