So the cost of road tax depends on the weight of the car? Here in the UK it's calculated by CO2 so by comparision it's "only" £280 a year.
-
I have too agree on that one And Alfas can last lost long if you look after them. Many people say that Alfas are unreliable only because..well..most never had one and those who had never looked after it properly
-
I might be interested. PM me a few pics when you can. Thanks
-
And I might come second because mine's got 120k miles on the clock 250k isn't that many when you think about it though... My brother has a Mercedes with 600k+ and that car has been clocked... I reckon its covered 800k or even more..

Well the BMW is sort of a benchmark in this class. At least until the Giulia goes on sale. So anyway that's why I reckon others use similar design. Mind you.. I've seen some really dumb comments about it on the internet. There's quite a lot people thinking its based on a Chrysler

It's like I say.. My GTV is a great car but it has a massive fault.. Steering wheel's in the glovebox Welcome Sumran_Domguy!

I remember reading somewhere that it was produced for the japanese market. Weirdly its LHD for some reason I'm not gonna comment on the ugliness of the thing, but I guess the japanese like that sort of look..

I tried one them cheap internal antennas. Didn't work at all. Even with an amplifier. So after some research online I found some good reviews about this Blaupunkt internal antenna. http://www.incarconnections.co.uk/car-aerials-car-antenna/blaupunkt-autofun-funline-am-fm-in-car-windscreen-aerial-antenna.html
-
Aaaa... I was thinking of getting something similar because my OE antenna is broken. I'm also considering a Blaupunkt internal one because most of them eBay external antennas just ruin the car's looks...
-
Wooow that's a sweet looking car Hey, Charlee what antenna did you use on your car?
-
Well 2 grand will get you a good Twin Spark if I'm honest. V6s are a more expensive
-
That's an XJS12 right? Sorry for another stupid question Now I remember where I saw your GTV when I noticed you got OHIO number plates. It was on eBay a few months ago.
-
Hello! A GTV will be a huge improvement after a Cougar! My advice is don't buy one them cheapos...Unless you definitely know what exactly is wrong with it and how much money and time it'll cost you
-
Well...I remember I asked one of my colleagues who knows nothing about cars how much he thinks a GTV cost. Guess what? He said it looks expensive so I guess it looks more than it actually is..
-
And I suppose the best thing is that a GTV in the US is rarer than a Ferrari.. Now that's what I call exotic Do people often ask what car it is? Or say stuff like.. I bet my Mustang is better ?
-
Well.. As far as I know the UK (and the rest of the EU I guess) is also quite liberal on imports. I've seen many LHD cars here with british licence plates. However.... Insurance premiums tend to be higher for imported cars. Even if it's the same car Anyway.. Back to the US.. I asked about the GTV because of the well known Nissan Skyline story...
-
Wow! It's surprising where some cars end up. Welcome to the forum! I wanted to ask.. How difficult is it to own a gtv in the US? Regarding parts, servicing etc.? Also.. You said yours is one of 3 legal gtvs in the US. How does one make a car that was never intended for the american market legal?

Hello everyone, A few months back I finally decided to bite the bullet and got myself a 2002 GTV 2.0TS. Originally I wanted a V6,but I'm young and insurance companies in the UK love young guys with sporty cars ( People from the UK will know what I'm on about here) so I decided to go for the TS. Mine's pretty much standard so far. When I got the car it was in a OK condition. Had a few scratches, front wishbones need replacing as well as timing belt kit. So I had that sorted after I got it and enjoying it everyday now. As for plans.. There are a few. I'm planning to fit some 17inch wheels (looking for zenders or teledials only), Powerflex the rear end, install a decent audio system, polish the whole car. For now... But you never know what you can come up with later... You know how it goes. I'll post a few pics soon

I know They don't look that bad from far away, but the gap between the wheel and the rear arch is massive. Then again,I'm not totally sure someone hasn't messed with rear springs. This car has unknown history
