New leather connot match the quality of older Alfa leather. That's the problem with other manufacturers too. Mercedes or BMW leather seats rip apart within 30000km.

A friend has a problem on a 2002 166 2.4 JTD (150hp). When he presses the accelerator, the battery warning light turns on around at 1800rpm, then goes out on higher revs. It's off on idle. This is really strange. Has anyone had any similar experience?

Unfortunately not. Bearing, collector (if that's the correct name) and regulator. Changed everything, works great. I didn't know 166s had Marelli alternators

Apparently you only have to remove the driveshaft to get to the alternator. 166 should have more room in front than a 156
